In the Middle Ages, the Mesnac land belonged
to the Cognac lordship.
In the 15th century, it became the property of Geoffroy de Beaumanoir
and his family, until 1490 when it was bought by Jean de Puyrigault
and kept in the family for three generations.
In 1747, the lands of Mesnac and Chazotte came into the possession
of Louis D'orviller, Navy Admiral and Knight of the Order of Saint
Louis.
In 1783, the "Angages" estate is acquired by the Count
d'Artois, future King Charles X. The Chateau de Mesnac was a solid
manor house at the time.
In 1921, Jean-Charles Churlaud united the Mesnac lands through
exchange and purchase. His wife Thérèse Churlaud developed
the distillation activity and wholesale marketing. In 1972, production
tripled followed by storage and ageing units.
Their only daughter Christel followed in their footsteps. She is
proud to market the Cognacs that are over fifty years old.
The D. du Veron collection is a great reflection of Cognac, for
the high-end range: the richness of the area, its ancestral and
precious character, confirming a strong personality and expertise
of the producers and, above all, that the source of all destiny
is work and love.
